Frequently asked questions
How long does a brand identity project take?
Brand identity projects typically take 6-8 weeks from kickoff to final delivery. Design system builds add 4-6 weeks. Complex multi-brand systems can take 12-16 weeks. We provide detailed timelines in our proposals.
Do you work with existing brands or only new ones?
We work with both. Many of our projects are brand refreshes or design system builds for existing brands. We start by auditing your current brand, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements that maintain brand equity while modernising your visual language.
What file formats do you deliver?
We deliver source files in industry-standard formats (AI, PSD, SVG, PDF) plus optimised assets for web and print. All files are organised, named consistently, and documented. We also provide design system documentation in Notion, Confluence, or custom sites.
Can you help with implementation?
Yes. We provide implementation support, training sessions, and handoff documentation. For design systems, we can work with your development team to ensure proper implementation. We also offer ongoing design support on retainer.
What if I need changes after delivery?
We include one round of revisions in our standard packages. Additional revisions are billed at our hourly rate. For ongoing needs, we recommend a retainer arrangement that provides access to design support and asset creation.
Do you work with design agencies or in-house teams?
Both. We often collaborate with in-house design teams to build systems they'll maintain, or work directly with marketing teams who need design support. We adapt our process to your team structure and capabilities.
What's included in a design system?
A complete design system includes: component library (buttons, forms, cards, etc.), pattern library (layouts, navigation, content patterns), design tokens (colours, typography, spacing), usage guidelines, code components (optional), and documentation site.
How do you ensure brand consistency?
We create comprehensive brand guidelines that cover logo usage, colour application, typography, imagery, tone of voice, and motion principles. We also build design systems that enforce consistency through reusable components and patterns.
Can you create motion graphics and animations?
Yes. We create motion graphics for video content, animated logos, interface animations, and motion principles for your design system. Motion design is included in Growth and Scale packages, or available as an add-on to Essential.
What's your process for brand positioning?
We start with discovery workshops to understand your market, audience, and competitive landscape. We then develop positioning frameworks that inform all design decisions. This ensures your brand identity reflects your strategic positioning.
